Corporate Social Responsibility
We believe in operating an ethical business. For us, this means acting responsibly in all that we do.
Supporting the local community
As part of our Christian ethical approach, we commit to donating 10% of our profits to charity. Over the last few years, we are pleased to have been able to support a variety of charitable organisations. Two of the main local charities we donate to are Youth and Families Matter and SCRATCH. We also donated a Solardome® glasshouse and our time to Children in Need, and their refurbishment of The Yard Children’s Centre in Edinburgh.
Based in Totton, Southampton, YFM is a local charity that works to improve the wellbeing of the community. They offer a frontline service to help young people and families in their time of need.
SCRATCH aims to help with the effects of poverty and hardship for families and individuals living in Southampton and the surrounding area.
Reducing our impact on the environment
We strive for our domes to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Due to their sun trapping shape and 97% light transmitting glass not only does a Solardome® glasshouse require less energy to heat it than a standard glasshouse, it is also great for helping our customers live a sustainable lifestyle and reduce their carbon footprint.
Our domes are also constructed from 79% recycled aluminium, and whilst customers will not need to worry about a replacement for decades, they can be assured that all or our glass and aluminium domes are recyclable at the end of their long lives.
Supporting the local economy
We work hard to ensure that our suppliers are UK companies, supporting the British economy and minimising our impact on travel and the environment where possible.
