Mrs Jude, Oxfordshire
“I opted for a Solardome® glasshouse as a garden room, because it’s the best”
Oxford is known as the ‘City of dreaming spires’ because of its fine architecture, and local resident Mrs Jude has installed her very own unique structure in the shape of a SOLARDOME® Haven.
Mrs Jude was intrigued by a 25 year-old glass dome which appeared on Ebay as she searched for greenhouses. Inspired, she widened her online search to include garden rooms. She wanted a design which would enable her to pursue her love of gardening and extend the amount of time she could spend outside at her windy site overlooking Oxford Hinksey Heights golf course.
Mrs Jude explains:
“I looked at USA suppliers for similar dome ideas. There were some very interesting wood designs, but they were clunky, needed maintenance and were very expensive to ship. I opted for the alumininum framed Solardome® glasshouse as a garden room because it’s the best. No other manufacturer can match the quality and design perfection. Buckminster Fuller, the pioneer of geodesic domes, would have approved!”
Mrs Jude advises fellow dome enthusiasts to consider their Solardome® glasshouse’s proposed position and the amount of available sun and shade when deciding how best to use it. “For me, it’s great for nurturing seeds early in the year and frost protection in winter, but the ambience of the glass dome makes it a perfect garden room for entertaining all-year round. We’ve installed a nice waterproof floor and rugs with bean bags, as well as a candle chandelier,” she says.
Commenting on the service she has received from Solardome Industries, Mrs Jude enthuses, “It’s always been excellent and the team is very friendly.”
