Architects and Designers
We can work with you at every stage of your project to create a solution which is in-line with your needs. From the creation of bespoke drawings to providing technical advice or project management you can be assured of support and excellent service at every stage of your project.
Landscape Designers We have worked with many landscape designers and architects to provide a stunning addition to their client's garden or outdoor space. From a geodesic garden room to a tranquil retreat in a hospital's rehabilitation programme, SOLARDOME® glasshouses make that unique design feature. We often get landscape architect firms adding SOLARDOME® glasshouses into a Building Schools for the Future programme or as part of an improved school grounds project. These glass domes are used as unique growing zones or biome projects, stunning focal points or special multipurpose outdoor classrooms. See our school section for more information.
Architects We can provide free standing glass domes to meet your client's specifications, a range of low profile geodesic skylight domes to add a touch of class to an atrium, conservatory or office block. Or we can design a bespoke dome or sphere for your specific project requirements.
For example, Eccelston George Public Artists told us they won a hospice garden design project due to their innovative designs which incorporated the use of circles. We helped Eccleston George to win this work through:
- Providing a dome structure that met their circular design requirements innovatively
- Being able to alter the SOLARDOME® glasshouse design according to their specification to meet their project goals
- Enabling them to meet project budget restrictions through the efficient and time saving use of an adaptable, existing product.
Some examples of bespoke projects include Design and manufacture of: multiple domes linked via braced arches to create an arch or circle of domes (see example drawings), different dome models linked via small glass and aluminium tunnels (see example drawing), geodesic domes outside of our standard range, and even complete spheres and structural bases to make an impressive design statement for an exclusive event.
Eg - Designing a geodesic butterfly house based on a SD Sanctuary (7.75m) complete with a bespoke entrance way and double doorways.
Eg - Designing a 10m five frequency sphere, structural base and 2 or 3 internal floors, for an innovative, cross cultural, completely immersive art project planned for South Africa 2010.
Eg - SD3 Skylight - architects The Custard Factory is Birmingham's revolutionary new arts and media centre. At the heart of this is Devonshire House, a flagship building which has become the focus of a huge restoration and renovation project to transform it into a contemporary commercial, residential and community space. We were asked by architects, the Weedon Partnership, to provide one of our innovative skylight domes (5.94m) to act as a stunning atrium for the building to complete the inspirational redesign.
