Roof Domes and Skylight Domes

The most advanced glasshouse under the sun

SOLARDOME® glasshouses make wonderful roof spaces and can be used either as an extra room on the roof or as a skylight covering a room below.

So what about me?

If you are wanting a roof garden or sun room then all of our standard SOLARDOME® for outdoor living domes are suited. A SOLARDOME® glasshouse will capture the best of the sun, wherever it is in the sky, and transform a boring flat roof into an exciting new living space.

However if you are wanting to cover a space below then one of our special low profile skylight domes (SD 2, 3 or 4) are most suitable.

Pure elegance

The simple sleek lines of a dome complement any architectural style with its own chic beauty.

Safety in strength

The aluminium geodesic dome frame provides an extremely strong and virtually maintenance free structure. It has been shown to withstand winds in excess of 120mph – making it the perfect safe structure for a flat roof. Nothing can compare to the SOLARDOME® glasshouse for providing a structure light enough and strong enough to be simply and safely erected on an existing flat roof.

A natural paradise

The construction maximises the heat and light gain from the sun while the natural chimney effect developed by the dome shape maintains a balanced and comfortable temperature throughout the day.

Special skylight roof domes

  • SD2 (15ft/4.52m)
  • SD3 (19ft6/5.94m)
  • SD4 (25ft/7.56m)

The SOLARDOME® Skylight domes are designed to be beautiful structures on top of your roof. These low profile geodesic domes makes a light and elegant addition to any roof, outdoor building or walled area. All geodesic skylights come in toughened glass and in some applications we recommend an additional safety or thermal film to go over the glass. No doors or door frames are provided and windows are optional depending on the application. Please go to our Skylight Range section for more technical information.

Please note - All of our domes are single glazed with 4mm glass and designed to be free standing garden buildings and are not designed to meet internal building regulations.
