Using a Solardome for growing salads, herbs and vegetables for the school canteen is an ideal way to help students understand where food comes from. It is also an ideal time to teach the benefits of healthy eating, nutrition and how to pursue a sustainable future.

Some schools have gone to local markets with produce they have grown in their dome. Newquay School’s science club members even took first prize at the Royal Cornwall Show with flowers grown in the dome and fed with their own home-made fertiliser.
