Reading Room/DramaA dome makes an ideal reading room, away from the main school building. Perhaps you could create a tranquil haven for quiet reading sessions, designed to inspire a love of books and develop literacy. Or you may prefer something more lively, such as an outdoor studio for drama and story re-enactment where imaginations really come alive and communication and social skills thrive. Why not get the pupils to design their own story telling setting complete with teacherās chair? Or create a whole new atmosphere for each story by changing the props in the dome to match the story being told. For example, a story about a trip to the beach could be brought alive by pupils bringing in beach towels, their bucket and spade and sun glasses. Or why not get the pupils to dress up in their favourite superhero outfit if the story is about a hero. Designing a special dome reading room can encourage group participation, improve attention spans and create lasting memories. |
